First of all, I want to congratulate those couples who are planning to marry or newly married, stressed of wedding and puzzling with honeymoon plans and eagerly want to spend time together as husband and wife in an exotic paradise which considers beauty of nature for their romantic honeymoon destinations. I insist you to choose the longest and unbroken sea-beach of Bangladesh as well as of the world- Cox’s Bazar.
It is the Queen of natural beauty. Pride and Prime beach town for Bangladeshi’s. About 120 km of golden sandy beaches in the backdrop of towering cliffs with lush green rain forest, wild animals and birds grasslands and trees, colorful temples and pagodas with various valuable metals and stones containing images of Buddha, undoubted beauty of several numbers of waterfalls, delicious sea-food and blue ocean water with surfing waves made the Cox’s Bazar is the best honeymoon destinations other than the rest.
Cox’s Bazar is the most popular beach town in the Chittagong division of Bangladesh, located alongside the Bay-of-Bengal in the west, bounded by Bakkhali River on the north and east, and Jhilwanj union in the south. The captain of the East India Company named Hiram Cox was appointed here. After his death, honoring him a market was established named Cox’s Bazar in 1854. Once it was named ‘Palonkee’, also known as “Panowa” means “Yellow Flower”.
Wavy water of the Bay-of-Bengal touches every square inch of the miles long beach. The beach town further become the district of large port and health resort. Millions of visitors (Foreigners and Bangladeshi both) visit the tourist capital of Bangladesh- Cox’s Bazar every year. There are some rivers as well making Cox’s Bazar more enchanting. They are Bakkhali, Matamuhuri, Maheskhali Channel, Kutubdia Channel, Reju Khal and Naf River.
Cause of unbroken one long beach, diversifying flora and Fauna is differently. As the Cox’s Bazar region beaches are Kalatoli, Laboni, Shugandha; a bit fur of them is Himchari and little more distanced is 1nani And more fur than that known as Teknaf beach with great values can be visited in a go. Luxurious buses are available all day long and daily flights are also available to connect with. Beginning of October to February is the pick time of tourism, but bit crowded. Rest of the year remains virgin.
Few Tips, be careful about waves even if you’re good in swimming. Strictly follow the red and green flag sign at the life-saving watch tower and be aware of local non-Buddhist Bangladeshi’s, offering a guided tour demands much after.
The Bangladesh Government formed the “Tourist Police” in 2013 are though 24 X 7 constantly present, you’re recommended not to stay till deep night in the beach.
Beside discovering the sandy sea coast with k rgentle waves of the Bay-of-Bengal, you can taste drinking of famous green coconut, check out interesting traditional dresses and fabrics, beauty products based on sandle wood, pearl jewelry, local dry fish, conch shell market, handicrafts and handmade cigars alongside the beach. You can enjoy water sports & ; sailing, horseback riding watching sunset is well worth. Jet-skiing and beach-biking are emerging popularity recently.
Most of the hotels and restaurants serve Bangladeshi dishes but you can taste continental in few of them. Being Bangladesh is a Muslim country like the Maldives, alcohol is not easy drinks, but available at number of few 3 and 5-star hotels.
There are lots of hotels, resorts and cottages packed with many offerings and discounts especially for honeymooners. To name few of them are Ocean Paradise Hotel & Resort, Hotel Seagull, Hotel Prime Park, Sayeman Beach Resort, White Orchid, Long Beach Hotel, Uni Resort, Royal Tulip Sea Pearl Beach Resort and Nilima Resort Hotel. Some of these have their private beaches, pools and other facilities.
Most visited places in Cox’s Bazar are Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park (a tropical evergreen rain forest with an extension of an animal sanctuary), Himchari National Park (a conversation area for , research, education and recreation), Aggmed Khayang (a large Buddhist monastery), Ramu (a village with remarkable Buddhist population, which is famous for handicrafts and handmade cigar) and Teknaf (boating on the river is an extremely unforgettable memories on the opposite of the Myanmar with green forest high hills in the back).
Beside these there are some amazing islands from where nature-lover honeymooners can enjoy both of sunrise and sunset at the same direction. Cox’s Bazar is the perfect destination for weddings, vacations, family vacations, all inclusive vacations, honeymoon vacations or romantic getaways along with some awesome and romantic islands. They are Maheskhali, Kutubdia, Sonadia, Shah Parir Island and of course the best of them personally to me !s Sant Martins 1sland.
I’ve written about all of the islands in my another article “Wonder Islands of The World’s Longest Beach- Cox’s Bazar and of course you are always recommended for your travel insurance before traveling wherever & whenever.
